The next two weeks are going to be hectic. Well, they have the potential to be.
I have to pack up my life for 14 days to head to Tony’s. We have appointments, 2 formal events to attend, and all kinds of other things to get handled.
Then I come home for 1 day before leaving again to jet off to Utah for 5 days for an event and to visit some friends.
That’s a lot of packing.
Most people would put it off. They would procrastinate and then panic. They would let things slide and allow the difference in normal routine to throw them completely off course without even thinking twice about it.
In my world, I don’t want to ever move backwards. And when you let things slide or put them off that is exactly what you are doing; moving backwards.
So what did I do?
I wrote out what I needed for both trips. In detail.
I spent Thursday getting any and all loose ends wrapped up with my assistants and my house.
I set a clear and solid plan for the next 2 weeks.
Today I went through my clothes. I tried on what I need to make sure it looks right, and then I packed it.. for both trips.
Yes I packed for the next 10 days.
Yes I packed for my Utah trip which is still 2 weeks away.
Because I refuse then veer from the routine and I know that if I didn’t prep it all now, I would be up all night and running around crazy the day before my flight, I wouldn’t sleep and I would be sick. I would be sick on the plane. I would be sick when I got there and probably the next day.
Why am I telling you this?
Because I want to point out what taking a few hours to be prepared can do for you.
Being prepared allows you time to work.
Being prepared allows you time to create.
Being prepared allows you to connect.
Being prepared allows you peace.
Being prepared allows you sanity.
Being prepared allows you time to actually ENJOY every experience.
Because you don’t have to stress or worry about when you’ll have time or did you forget something.
Because you don’t even have to think about it again, because it’s handled.
Marked off the list so you can keep your eye on the prize.
So for those of you to feel like you’re living in pure chaos or that every switch in your regular routine will completely throw you off, I challenge you to start thinking ahead.
Sure, I’m talking about packing in this particular post but you can use this same principle in any area of your life.
Being prepared will keep you moving forward. And forward is where all of the possibility lie.
