You’re allowed to be proud of your body.

In fact, you SHOULD be proud of your own body. Especially if it’s something you’ve had to fight to build.

You see, I’ve always been the skinny girl. Like unhealthily skinny. I wasn’t unhappy with the way I looked but I didn’t feel good…ever.

Yep, I was sick almost every day.

And the doctors told me that was just something I would have to deal with… along with an old knee injury that would flare up from time to time and a lower back injury that hurt me everyday.

Just something I would have to live with? I think not.

So I started learning my body.
Testing my blood sugar level before and after everything I ate, documenting sleep, hydration, and how I felt day in and day out until I found out what worked for me and what didn’t.

Then I added in yoga. I did yoga 4 times a week for 6 months to build my core strength and loosen all my super tense muscles.
Then I started weight training. I had zero endurance and zero strength. It was embarrassing. And my first session I literally barely made it through.

2 years later and I’m incredibly proud of the physique I’ve built. I’ve put on 2 inches of size in my hips and glutes, 1 inch on my upper arm, and lost 2 inches in my waist.

I’ve also GAINED 11lbs of muscle.

I feel better than I ever have in my entire life. I am no longer sick every day. My knees rarely hurt at all anymore and my daily back pain has almost completely gone away.

So this post has two main messages;
1-Take your life into your own hands, learn your body, and build whatever it is that you want.
2- Be PROUD of your body and don’t let anyone feel like you shouldn’t be.
