My favorite question (Well, one of them):
Q: What are you training for?
A: Life. I’m training for life.
Because I refuse to be in crippling pain all day every day. Because I refuse to be unhappy in my own body. Because I refuse to be afraid to take my shirt off at the pool. Because I want to feel amazing every day. Because I want to be able to function at my highest capacity every day. Because I want to be 50 years old and still be active and healthy. Because I want to look better as I age. Because I want to be able to adventure whenever I want to without worrying if my body can keep up. Because I don’t want to regret anything. Because I want to wear whatever I want to wear whenever I want to wear it. Because if the “lights go out” tomorrow and I am forced to survive on my own without any luxuries, I want to be damn sure that my mind, body, and soul are more than prepare to SURVIVE anything.
That’s why I train.
That’s why I lift heavy shit.
That’s why I get massage.
That’s why I learn new things every day.
That’s why I clear my mind daily.
That’s why I look my own shit in the face.
That’s why I learned to garden.
That’s why I study my oils.
That’s why I practice with my weapon.
That’s why I took the time to learn my body.
That’s why I use as much natural healing and supplements as possible.
That’s why I learned to cook.
That’s why I drive a stick.
That’s why I study human behavior.
That’s why I study the human body.
That’s why I know how to fix my own car if needed.
That’s why I know how to care for my own animals.
That’s why I mastered how to sew.
That’s why I get things “skill related” in writing versus everything being stored on the internet.
That’s why I know how to can.
That’s why I know how to clean a fish and gut an animal.
That’s why I built my own business.
That’s why I know how to run several different kinds of businesses.
It’s all training for life. To do life on my terms, always. And let me tell you, it’s an incredible feeling.
Training my mind, body, soul every day IS a priority.
Because I choose to be prepared, I choose to survive no matter what. And I choose to enjoy every moment of this life in a body I love and in a way that those memories will last a lifetime.
