LETTING GO OF SOMEONE ELSE’S RULES
Sometimes the force of the “shoulds” can send you down a path that isn’t really yours at all. A path that is far from what you actually want, truly desire life to be like, or how you want to feel.
You get caught up in the story of what you SHOULD be doing to make the most money, be the healthiest, be happy, stay true to the timeline the world or your family put on you, etc. and everything just STOPS feeling authentic to you anymore.
And isn’t that the point of this life? To be yourself? To live in a way that’s authentic and right according to YOUR standards?
Too many years are spent trying to live up to someone else’s measuring stick of what’s right or wrong, what’s supposed to happen at 21 or 25 or 30, and what steps you should take to get there.
Personally, the most liberating thing (Frustrating and confusing at times too) has been fully letting go of someone else’s rules.
Learning to start questioning EVERYTHING and starting to shed off the shoulds that so sneakily were running all of my decisions. AND more importantly, always left me feeling like I was missing something. Like something wasn’t right with me. Like I was crazy or wrong for not being satisfied. The pressures of the “shoulds” tried to hard to suppress the ME but when you’re a soul like mine, full suppression is a pretty hard thing to accomplish.
I’m grateful for that because I do think that if I wouldn’t have noticed it, I could have possibly spent my life in the whirlwind of shoulds and desires that remained secret because they didn’t match the shoulds.

Be Grateful for Your Health
If you’re healthy, please be grateful for that. If you feel well, and physically capable most days, or all days, PLEASE be grateful for that.
Consistency Pays Off
It’s been a long long long journey of hard things, all of which I’ve handled like a champ but it’s different than feeling powerful and capable in your own flesh and bones again.
THE HIGHEST HIGHS…AND THE LOWEST LOWS
I’ve said this in conversations several times over the past week or so when coming across busy business owners who are trying to also manage life and feeling a little crazy along the way.
