Protecting Your Peace
Last week when I was sitting down brainstorming ideas for my next podcast recording, I was running through some things that have been “loud” in my routine lately, things that have stood out and “Protect Your Peace” was one of them.
Several months ago my doctor said this to me and it shook me to the core. He told me that there is never any reason that I should allow ANYONE to disrespect me or disrupt my peace.
Later, we would go on to revisit and really empower this statement as a new way of existing. Why are we so quick to offer up something that we work so hard to create anyway?
It makes no sense to spend time and energy to establish something for our own better being and then offer it up like a sacrificial lamb the moment we think someone else might be inconvenienced or maybe will think we’re “not there for them” or are being “different” or “selfish”.
The truth is, none of that is even what is happening anyway. It’s not that you’re inconveniencing anyone (except maybe yourself) and you’re not being different or selfish…instead you’re just not doing exactly what you’ve taught someone else to expect from you.
Protecting your peace turns into a game of respecting your own needs and accepting your own worth as something worthy of protecting in the first place.
Heavy stuff, I know. But that led me to record a simplistic way for you to start understanding this within your own life and how YOU can start putting yourself and your peace FIRST.
The ripple effect of that is simply magical (and lighter) than you could imagine.

Be Grateful for Your Health
If you’re healthy, please be grateful for that. If you feel well, and physically capable most days, or all days, PLEASE be grateful for that.
Consistency Pays Off
It’s been a long long long journey of hard things, all of which I’ve handled like a champ but it’s different than feeling powerful and capable in your own flesh and bones again.
THE HIGHEST HIGHS…AND THE LOWEST LOWS
I’ve said this in conversations several times over the past week or so when coming across busy business owners who are trying to also manage life and feeling a little crazy along the way.
