Deciding to invest money in yourself is a strange kind of dance sometimes.
It’s usually a little scary (whether you care to admit it or not) and accompanied by thoughts or worries like “what if it doesn’t work?”
And the truth is, that question has nothing to do with the money, the coach, or education piece… and it has everything to do with YOU.
When you’re making an investment in a Coach, furthering your education, or growth, you’re ultimately investing in yourself.
You’re betting on your ability to follow through, your desire to learn and expand, your commitment to doing the work and showing up day after day.
Because the truth is, your coach can show up for you every day (and a good one will), they can give you all of the insights, data, content, etc. but they aren’t going to jump into the ring with you and dodge the jabs or throw the right hooks. They’re not going to step in as goalie or kick the ball. That’s your job. Their job is to guide you, to support you, to offer you information that you may not have or maybe you do but it’s not delivered with a new perspective. Their job is to stand on the sidelines and cheer you on, guide you when you’re seeking or a little lost, encourage you when there’s 3 minutes left in the game and you don’t think you can make it. Their job is to remind you who the fuck you are in those moments of doubt and pull you back to center in the times where you veer off course or your ego gets louder than you need it to be.
But you see, they can’t do any of those things if YOU DON’T SHOW UP.
So while the ticket price on an investment might be a little scary, the real thing that scares us most is underneath it all, it’s in the realization that at the end of the day, we still have to be willing to open up, share, do the work, and show up.
I’m not telling you this because I’m a Coach, I’m telling you this because I invest in them for myself and it seems that no matter how long I’ve done this, that fear pops back up and the old dance is brought back to the forefront, even if only for a moment.
